LIB DEM CANDIDATE CONDEMS NO POLL DECISION

No Vote T

The Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for St Austell & Newquay, Stephen Gilbert, has condemned the decision by Gordon Brown not to call a General Election this autumn.

Stephen said: "Like the Grand Old Duke of York, Brown has marched us all to the top of the hill and is now marching us all down again.

"Far from being a conviction politician as he claimed, Brown has shown himself to a calculating politician who twitches every time a poll moves.

"I've met many local residents over the last few weeks who would have welcomed a poll and when the chance to vote does come people will remember that, this autumn, Brown lost his nerve."
