Knocking on Newquay

Over the weekend of 14 & 15 March, 35 Lib Dem activists joined local candidate Stephen Gilbert in Newquay for the largest action weekend the party in Cornwall has seen for decades.

The team managed to knock on a staggering 7,532 doors over the weekend - nearly the whole town.

The team were joined by the current MP for Newquay, Dan Rogerson, and South West Euro-candidate Kay Barnard.

Stephen Gilbert said: "It was a great weekend. The weather was perfect - perhaps even too sunny. We knocked on almost every door in Newquay, identified around 1,000 new supporters and got 44 new offers from people keen to help the campaign. On top of that one or two of us even managed to stand-up on our surfboards - if not for very long!"
